Privacy Policy

Last updated September 12, 2026

What we collect, why, who can see it, and how to get it deleted. We do not sell your information.

1. Who we are

Invite Brand LLC operates the Ruva App. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the App and any related services. Questions: theinviteapplication@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Account information: your email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash), plus your name and a username.

Profile information you choose to add: a photo, a short bio, and the kinds of plans you are interested in.

Phone number, if you add one. We store the number privately and a scrambled (hashed) version for matching. It is never shown to other users.

Contacts, if you allow it. Phone numbers in your address book are scrambled (hashed) on your device and only the scrambled versions are sent to us. We keep those scrambled values so that matching works in both directions: someone appears as a contact only if you have their number and they have yours. Names and the original numbers never leave your phone, the scrambled values cannot be turned back into numbers, and you can erase them at any time with "Stop matching my contacts" or by deleting your account.

Invited contacts. When you invite people from your address book to a plan, the invitation text is sent from your own phone, not by us. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) version of the numbers you chose, tied to that plan, so the plan can be waiting for them if they join. Those scrambled values are deleted after 90 days if the person does not join, and never include names.

Location. With your permission, your device location is used to centre your feed. We do not store your precise device location. If you set a home city, we store a location rounded to roughly half a mile. Plans you post store the place you choose, plus a version rounded to roughly half a mile that other people see.

Content you create: plans, responses (Interested / Going), messages, photos, attendance answers, feedback, reports, and blocks.

Device and usage data: device type and operating system, a push notification token if you turn notifications on, and product analytics events (for example that a plan was posted or a screen was viewed). Analytics do not include the content of your messages.

3. How we use it

To run the App: show plans near you, let people respond, deliver messages and notifications, connect you with friends, and remember your settings.

To keep people safe: review reports, hide repeatedly reported content, act on blocks, and enforce our Terms.

To improve the App: understand which features are used and where people get stuck, in aggregate.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

4. What other people can see

Anyone on Ruva: your name, username, photo, bio, and how many plans you have hosted and attended.

Only you: your friend list and friend count, who you have met, your phone number, your precise location, your reports, and who you have blocked.

Public plans: anyone nearby sees the plan and a rough area. Friends-only plans: only your accepted friends. Direct invites: only the people you invite. The exact spot of a plan is shared only with the people you choose.

Who is going is visible to everyone who can see the plan. Who is interested is visible only to the organiser. After a plan, who went and any photos are visible to the organiser and to the people who went. Feedback is visible to the organiser only, as an average.

5. Who we share it with

Service providers that store and process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Expo (push notification delivery), PostHog (product analytics), and LocationIQ (place search, which receives the text you type when searching for a place). They may only use your data to provide their service to us.

Law enforcement or others when required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or to enforce our Terms.

A successor if Ruva is acquired or merged, under this Policy.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, plans, responses, friendships, messages, and notifications are permanently deleted. Aggregated analytics that no longer identify you may be kept. Copies in routine backups are removed on the backup schedule.

7. Your choices and rights

Edit your profile, phone number, home city, interests, and notification settings in the App at any time.

Turn location, contacts, photos, and notification permissions on or off in your device settings.

Delete your account from Profile in the App, or email theinviteapplication@gmail.com from your account email to request deletion, a copy of your data, or a correction. We respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any right, contact us at the address above.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, row-level access rules on every table, and hashed passwords. No system is perfectly secure; use a strong password and tell us immediately if you suspect a problem.

9. Children

Ruva is for people 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe someone under 13 has an account, contact theinviteapplication@gmail.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be shown in the App. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
